Recensioni degli esperti

James Suckling:

Such vibrancy, but also depth and complexity. A very subtle touch of cocoa powder to the berries, red cherries and plums. Transparent and minerally, with beautiful juiciness, tension and ripeness. Almost full-bodied, and the fine, chalky tannins deliver resolve in the precise, driven finish. 85% tempranillo, 10% garnacha tnta and 5% viura from a 56-year-old, co-planted vineyard. All co-fermented. Drink or hold.

The Wine Advocate:

The 2021 Carronillo is a blend of Tempranillo and maybe 8% Garnacha and 4% Viura from a plot of old vines planted with that field blend in Ábalos at 631 meters in altitude on limestone and sandy soils. The hand-harvested grapes fermented together destemmed in an open stainless steel vat with selected yeasts, and the wine matured in used 500-liter French oak barrels, where it underwent malolactic fermentation and 12 months of aging. It's ripe without excess at 14.15% alcohol and keeps very good freshness and balance with a pH of 3.36 and 6.82 grams of acidity. It's aromatic, floral and nuanced, with a medium-bodied palate that has flavors of acid berries, very good acidity and a vibrant finish. 2,500 bottles were filled in January 2023.

Tim Atkin:

Carronillo is a 54-year-old vineyard located at a once marginal 632 metres in Ábalos.
Featuring Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha and 5% Viura, it has aromas of sage and wild thyme,
vanilla-scented French oak, lots of pithy, crunchy red berry and damson fruit and a poised,
tapering finish. Every inch a terroir-derived wine. 2025-31
