Cerro Añón Reserva 2019

Sturdier and more concentrated than the Cerro Añón Crianza, this is a nicely judged assemblage of Tempranillo with 15% Mazuelo and Graciano from the Rioja Alta. Sweetly wooded in American and 35% French barrels, this has liquorice, blackberry and cranberry flavours and top notes of coffee bean and dark chocolate. 2024-29

Dark ruby in the glass, this wine has aromas of Mission fig, cured ham and black olives. Cassis, dark plum, smoke, dried Mediterranean herb and roasted red pepper flavors are set into forceful tannins that slowly peel away to reveal a smoky finish
