Elena Walch Chardonnay Riserva Vigna Castel Ringberg Alto Adige DOC 2020

This is an intensely flavorful chardonnay with notes of lemon curd, roasted hazelnuts, buttered toast and apple crumble. Full-bodied, with delicious toasty undertones, accompanied by vibrant acidity. Very long and persistent. Drink or hold.

This super-fresh and exotically fruited barrique-fermented Chardonnay comes from the largest single vineyard in Alto Adige, where the steep slopes rise from 330 to 400 metres above sea level. The Alpine-fresh nose introduces some tropical fruits, melon, flint and a flash of passion fruit. In the mouth it has good intensity with notable oaking which should settle down with more time in the bottle. White peach, nectarine and honeysuckle flavours are balanced by a saline, textured palate with a full, focused and vibrant finish.
