Iñaki Olaberri crafts his low-intervention wines from vineyards high in Navarra’s Valle de Yerri. Hand-harvested, organic Garnacha Blanc is fermented using the ancestral method – just a single fermentation, completed in the bottle. The slow-ripening 2021 vintage provided just the right amount of acidity. Christine Parkinson: Very fine bubbles. Rich but subtle aromas and zesty flavours: marmalade, café crème, shiso leaf and sea salt. Very long. Gentle but emphatic. This really delivers. Sarah Jane Evans MW: Smoky truffle, floral aromas. Fine, persistent mousse. Vibrant, honeyed palate with piquant sour cherry and kumquat. A long, concentrated finish. Valentin Radosav: Vibrant aromas of orange, flowers and sage. Lovely complexity: peach, yellow apple, melon. Layered. Elegant, consistent mousse. Complex floral, herbal notes. A daring wine for pairing with food.
