Ossian Capitel 2021 Magnum

The deep golden 2021 Capitel has a very expressive nose with notes of pollen and flowers, yellow fruit and herbs. It has a velvety palate with a dry, chalky sensation and a dry finish. The full clusters were pressed and the juice put to ferment with indigenous yeasts in 228-liter oak barrels, where the wine matured with the lees for nine months. It has contained ripeness, 13.5% alcohol and a serious profile and is mineral, tasty and long, with great personality. 1,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2022.

Pale, cloudy lemon hue. Plenty of creamy oak spices, nougat and vanilla in the fore followed by squeezed lemon and yuzu tea. Paradoxically austere on the palate with bright, high acidity cutting through the medium-bodied palate, giving it a very crisp, laser-sharp mouthfeel. Long, creamy finish. Try in a year or two.
