Párpados 2021

The 2021 Párpados, their entry-level red, has contained ripeness and alcohol (14%) and is primary and fruit-driven but with complexity and depth, very fine chalky tannins and an elegant mouthfeel. It comes from high-altitude vineyards in Olmedillo de Roa (90%) and Moradillo de Roa. They use neutral barrels and also some 500-liter ones to respect the origin, and it works. It's delicious. I wish there were more wines like this from Ribera del Duero. 10,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2022.
