Txakoli K5 2012

I revisited the 2012 K5, which was a warmer year. At this time, they only aged the wine with the lees for six months. It has a golden color and a more advanced nose with some balsamic notes reminiscent of camphor and aromatic herbs with a smoky undertone. The palate is round and feels quite polished, denoting a more mature wine from a riper year. But it still has some citrus acidity that will make it go a few extra miles. By now, the gas is gone, but it is always subtle and never added. 74,000 bottles produced at the time. It was bottled in April 2013.
