This has a very rich array of ripe blackberries and blueberries with some succulent, juicy plums and blackberries, packed into the palate in an effusive, vibrant mode. Some cocoa powder to close. Drink over the next five years.
The 2019 Selección Malbec was produced from older vineyards in the Valle de Uco and only part of the wine matured in used barrels, so it has a nice combination between fruit and spice. It has more depth than the regular Malbec and feels more complete than the 2020 version that I also tasted next to it. It has good complexity and texture. It finishes dry and clean.
La storia di questa cantina inizia nel 1898 quando Nicola Catena emigrò dall'Italia in Argentina in cerca di nuove opportunità. Stregato da Mendoza e dai suoi dintorni, piantò il suo primo vigneto di Malbec nel 1902.
