Mengoba Godello Sobre Lías 2022

Once again, I tasted the 2022 Godello Viejo, which I already tasted last year. The wine hasn't moved much; it's aging slowly, developing some complexity and faint honeyed notes. "Viejo," which means "old," refers to the old clone of Godello, not only to the old vines from which the grapes are sourced. It matured in a 4,000-liter oak foudre for some 12 months. It has an expressive nose with a mixture of fruit, flowers, cereals, chamomile, pollen and beeswax and an elegant and balanced palate with 13% alcohol, good ripeness without excess and a very tasty and long finish. 21,000 bottles produced.
