Milsetentayseis La Peña 2021
Dettagli del prodotto
Recensioni degli esperti
La Peña is a single parcel rose from a 120-year-old vineyard in remote Fuentenebro, close to Burgos' border with Segovia. Based on Bobal with the other 50% made up of Alarije, Clairette, Pardillo and Salvador, it's pale, intense and hauntingly balanced, with ample minerality and zip, a hint of savoury tannin and flavours of redcurrant and pomegranate. 2023-26.
A pretty serious rosé here with a bright pale-salmon hue, showing nectarines, white cherries, stones and chalk. Succulent and full-bodied for a rosé with a creamy mouth-feel and nice phenolic bite at the end. From organically grown grapes. Drink now.
The rosé 2020 La Peña comes from an old 0.46-hectare vineyard in the village of Fuentenebro planted with mixed varieties (they have identified 268 different grapes!). It has notes of dry hay, cereals and spice and is a powerful rosé with 14% alcohol, not a light and happy rosé. It has a chalky and textured palate with a sapid feeling and the almost salty twist of the limestone soils and the vibrant sensation from the higher altitude. They only produce between 800 and 1,000 bottles.
